Starting a home church is not that hard. You don’t have to be registered, there are no forms to fill in and no pastors to pay.
1. Be passionate about Jesus and share your life together.
The only thing you need is to be passionate about following Jesus and be willing to share your life with others as you do it. You don’t even need a home! You could meet up with other like-minded believers in a cafe, at a park or the beach.
2. Don’t focus on the numbers.
It’s better to meet with 2 or 3 people who are committed to growing in their faith than 20 people who are half-hearted. Don’t worry if there are only 2 or 3 of you meeting together. If your faith is growing each time you meet up, it is worthwhile. Focus on building relationships with other believers instead of building a church.
3. Simply plan to meet together.
Do you know 2 or 3 like-minded people you can gather with? Simply invite them over for a meal or meet with them somewhere convenient for everyone. Have a conversation with them about how they are going with God. Pray with them, praise God together, read the Bible together and encourage each other to look more like Jesus.
4. Remember to reach out.
Throw in some outreach and giving to the needy and you are already more effective than a lot of big churches.
If you have any questions along the way, please feel free to ask. I’ll do my best to help you out.

Thanks for your article. My wife and I have already started a Home Church since last year. We still have a lot to learn. We are four people now. We need more insight, if you can help. Thank you.
